 The first Pero foods were developed by the company's owner and managing director, Dewi Parry, originally for feeding to his own dogs that had been reluctant to eat many of the proprietary brands on sale locally. Having developed a formula for what is now known as Pero Original, which proved very popular with his own dogs, Dewi answered the call from a local agricultural distributor who needed to offer a nutritious and cost-effective food for their own customers - most of whom were local hill farmers with working dogs.
Pero Original proved so successful that other varieties were added to the range, and distribution extended to independent and chain pet stores, supermarkets and garden centres. Now the Pero range caters for dogs of all types, ages, sizes - and lifestyles! The range now totals 13 products and also includes Organic cat foods. Pero is far from being the biggest supplier of pet foods, but the quality and value for money in the range has ensured that customers remain loyal to its products.
