Pero (Foods) Ltd was founded in 1985 and produces a range of high quality, wholesome and tasty dog and cat foods from our base in Betws-y-Coed in one of the most beautiful rural settings in North Wales.

We have a fantastic range of great dog foods that will keep your pet healthy and active from weaning, right into their twilight years.

Pero practices a no animal testing policy, which means that all of our foods and the ingredients used to make them are not tested on animals in anyway, and are cruelty free. For example the chicken used in our products is free range and human grade. We believe that your pet should have the very best! We are listed as Cruelty Free by both PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and Uncaged.

The first Pero dog foods were developed by the company’s owner and managing director, Dewi Parry, originally for feeding to his own dogs that had been reluctant to eat many of the proprietary brands on sale locally. Having developed a formula for what is now known as Pero Original, which proved very popular with his own dogs, Dewi answered the call from a local agricultural distributor who needed to offer a nutritious and cost-effective food for their own customers – most of whom were local hill farmers with working dogs.

Pero Original proved so successful that other varieties were added to the range, and distribution extended to independent and chain pet stores, supermarkets and garden centres. Now the Pero range caters for dogs of all types, ages, sizes – and lifestyles! The range now totals 13 products and also includes two breed specific formulas – Labrador Life and SBT (Staffordshire Bull Terriers). Pero is far from being the biggest supplier of pet foods, but the quality and value for money in the range has ensured that customers remain loyal to its products.
